Historical reference
Narva is a city with a long history, it was ruled over by Danes, Germans, Swedes, Russians and Estonians. Each of these periods changed Narva. The city burned down several times but it was almost always rebuilt. During World War II, Narva was on the front line at one point and became a battlefield between the two great powers. The situation was especially dire in March 1944, when the invading Soviet troops subjected Narva to an unprecedented bombardment, which destroyed almost the entire old town of Narva. When the war ended, people who returned to the city found only the ruins of the former Baltic baroque pearl. However, this time the old buildings were not rebuilt, as it would have been before. Now the virtual exposition “New Life of Old Narva” is returning the city to its former glory.
Exhibition of virtual reality
In addition to architecture, modern technologies also tell the stories of the Narva people with their vibrant lives, which help visitors discover completely new sides of Narva, see its history through the eyes of the city residents of that time, solve fascinating mysteries.
Virtual reality glasses help visitors get into the Town Hall Square built in the 17th century and virtually walk aroud the Old Narva.
Using tablets, guests can view 3D model of old town, read the stories of famous residents of that time as well as get acquainted with the pre-war life of the city as a whole.
